Jill & Gill

The Formation Collection | Fine Art 2018

A collection of work inspired by movement and expressed kinetically in print showcased in the windows of Brown Thomas Dublin.

The work, a series of 5 limited edition prints illustrated and hand printed with a multitude of mono printed layers and finished with hand painted touches where showcased as part of Art & Style in collaboration in Dublin's top luxury store Brown Thomas. One of six artists selected by Creative Director John Redmond, Jill & Gill took over a Brown Thomas windows and gallery space within the store over a six week period. Pushing the boundaries and their skill sets they created five 2x1 meter hand printed panels, three of which hung in one of the Grafton St windows over the six weeks while from March 21st-28th the additional two panels hung in-store. Solo Exhibition, SO Fine Art Editions Gallery, Dublin.

As a continuation of this work, we were delighted to exhibit our ‘Formation’ collection in SO Fine Art Editions. The 5 panels were re-interpreted into unique framed pieces which expands the collection of work across this theme of movement in a more commercial sense. As larger pieces they were assertive and told a story but, as smaller unique pieces they each hold a dynamic aesthetic. Trimmed to their core, the illustrations bleed off the edges, colour bounces within the frame and your attention is drawn to the exact part of each piece that was holding attention in those original panels.

Please get in touch via email to purchase any larger mono prints from this show. All pieces come pre-framed. hello@jillandgill.com
